CCM 116 Flourishing

I have been missing in action for a few weeks. I needed to make some drastic changes to my bedroom, where I craft, as I was feeling so claustrophobic in there. I used to have a filing cabinet for A4 papers, but it was tall, bulky, grey and ugly, and so it had to go, along with a huge computer cupboard which stuck out in the room far too far and ate up too much space.

I suddenly had a fit once I started pulling things apart and decided to decorate! Madness. It has killed my hand and really aggravated my osteoarthritis, so much so that colouring is now painful as is typing …… ‘so why are you wittering on so then’ I hear you mutter!

Anyhow the upshot was no blog posts for a few weeks, but I am back now with our latest challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers, which is to use one or more flourishes in your design.

CCM 116 Flourishing

I have used an image, Fairy Daisy. from our sponsor for this challenge, The Stamping Boutique and coloured her with promarkers and copics. As soon as I saw her I remember a gorgeous freebie embossing folder I got from Card Making and Papercraft and knew it would be perfect for her as it has the same style of daisies on it.

I embossed it and then coloured each of the daisies in with a combo of copics and pros. I added gems to the centre of the daisies, and to the daisies on the image, along with a wink of stella pen in clear to her eye makeup and wings.

The flourishes are from Tattered Lace, the large one, and Joy, the small ones. I cut them from the same shimmery lemon card that I used as a mat behind the image and embossed background, and then coloured them in with the same colours I used in the image.

You can’t see it too well, but I decorated her hair with little white dots using a sharpie pen. Have to say the sharpie pen is the best one I have ever found for adding white over your image!

I am entering her into the following:-

ABC K Keep It Simple

Our challenge at ABC today is K for Keep It Simple. We are sponsored by Oak Pond Creations who provided the team with some lovely digital images to use. I chose Love Kitty for my card.

K Keep It Simple

I printed my image directly onto some lush gold cardstock, and then trimmed it to size. The sentiment was from Prima I think (although can’t be certain) as were the footprints. I stamped them and then just joined them in a frame with fineliner pen. I also drew the stripes on the Kitty’s tail to complement the design of my sentiment stamp, a couple of touches of soft peach for shading finished it off.

7 Kids Challenge – #98 Anything Goes
Aurora Wings – #2 Monochromatic (I hope the small use of colour for shading is allowed?)
Crafting By Design – May: Anything Goes
Crafty Girls – #17 Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments – Anything Goes

Little Miss Muffet – #84 Anything Goes
